The newly launched Acer Aspire 5 A515-54G-53H6 is the successor of the widely popular and affordable A515-54-51DJ model we have reviewed earlier this year. This is not an update per se, but an upgrade altogether.
Review
So, this Acer Aspire 5 model slightly drifts away from its predecessor’s averageness. It slides into a territory of more robust laptops, suitable for a wider audience. This also means it costs around $150 more, but the price difference is fully justified.
You get a new, 10th generation Intel Core i5 processor, the same amount of system memory, 512 gigabytes of storage space and a dedicated entry level video card. If you plan on running demanding games on this laptop, there are better budget friendly alternatives.
With the Acer Aspire 5 A515-54G-53H6, you’ll be able to multitask, edit photos, play games like Minecraft, WoW, CS:GO, do all your daily tasks, send emails, edit documents, and stream 4K content without any problems.
What I’ve found interesting about this model was its versatility. Thanks to its varied assortment of interface and networking options, you can also use it as a desktop replacement. It has an Ethernet port and the latest wireless connection protocol (802.11ax).
Battery life is above average, as well as weight. However, the Acer Aspire 5 it is far from being a true ultra portable notebook. Personally, I would only use this laptop around the house or the office.
