A new iteration of the popular F series from ASUS has just been released in order to update the line of laptops with the newest processing technology from Intel – the ASUS F556UA-AS54.
Review
There aren’t any new features to talk about that I haven’t covered already when reviewing the previous model (AS54). It has the same amount of system memory, the same SSD storage capacity, same display, ports and networking options.

Basically, what ASUS have done with the F556UA-AB54 is refresh the specs some bit by adding a brand new Kaby Lake processor. The dual core Intel Core i5-7200U is a logical progression from te very similar i5-6200U.
Thus, performance gains will be almost unnoticed by the vast majority of users, since we’re talking about the same CPU, just different generations.

I raved about the ASUS F556UA then and I haven’t changed my mind since. I still think the ASUS F556UA-AB54 exhibits great value for money, especially since you’re getting all the perks of an ultrabook (minus the weight and thinness) for about $550 at the time of this review.
