Best Laptop Deals for Prime Day 2019

Prime Day is Amazon’s very own yearly massive sale event. This year it will last two days, starting on Monday, 15th of July, at 3am and will end 48 hours later. Although laptops aren’t a huge part of Prime Day, unlike Black Friday or Cyber Monday, you’ll likely be able to find enough offers. But only if you’re a member of Amazon Prime. The vast majority of deals are available only to their customers who are also Prime members. Therefore, if you don’t want to miss out on any deals and you haven’t tried out Prime yet, you should really consider getting a free 30-day membership right now.

What deals to look for?

The first items to go during previous Prime Day events were TVs, smartphones and smartwatches. They are by far the most sought after products. Most likely, these deals will be the first to be exhausted, so you’ll want to act fast. Other categories, such as kitchenware will have more deals in total, making it more likely for you to snatch something you’ve been saving for.

Best Prime deals as of now

As expected, since this is Amazon’s event after all, most great deals will involve their very own products. For instance, the Amazon Echo Input will only cost $14 ($20 off) and their Fire TV Recast will be $129 ($100 off). Also, Google Home products and TVs will have large discounts, percentage-wise. Since personal computers aren’t the main star on this stage, it’s hard to get access to deals before the 15th. So, I made a list of the best laptops you can buy from Amazon right now, regardless of any promotions. These are notebooks that are worth every penny, even without any additional discounts. Better if you can get your hands on a deal, but otherwise great value for money.

Are the deals really worth it?

This is a question that pops up every year. The answer is nuanced. Mainly, because it depends on you, the buyer. Whether a certain deal is worth it or not depends entirely on you. What you need, what is an acceptable offer for you, and so on. Rather than ask yourself if a certain sale even is worth it, ask if you really need all those products that will be on sale. Of course you won’t. Focus on what you really, really need and search discounts in that category rather than browse aimlessly in search for the next bargain.

Best laptops to consider for Prime Day 2019

There are a number of criteria after which I usually structure my best of lists. Normally, I group notebooks into categories defined by their price range or type. They can be either affordable, or expensive, or best buys. This time, I’ll focus only on the ones who have the best hardware and features, and don’t cost a fortune. After all, it’s Prime Day. I want a deal. You want a deal. Everyone wants a deal. Right? So, without further ado, here is my list of the best possible laptops you can buy this July.

1. ASUS ZenBook 13

The ZenBook 13 is, in my opinion, this year’s all star notebook. It comes with an Intel Core i7-8565U processor, 16 GB of memory and a 512 GB PCIe SSD. This 13-inch laptop is also feature-rich, having a switchable number pad/touch pad combo, a very slim screen bezel and enough battery life to last for around 13 to 14 hours of use. Perfect for most everyday and even power users, its design and hardware make it this year’s best buy. All for just under $1000.

2. Dell XPS 13 9380

Dell’s flagship ultrabook, the legendary XPS 13, has had a refresh this year. Now, this top of the line device comes equipped with an Intel Core i7-8565U CPU, 16 GB of memory and 512 GB of storage space on a PCIe SSD. Not that much different than the Zenbook 13 right? Well, yes and no. While they have almost identical hardware, the Dell XPS comes with a superior 4K display! However, it’s considerably more expensive.

3. Acer Swift 3

If you want a very portable laptop, like the two flagships listed above, but don’t want to pay as much, the Swift 3 is a great alternative. As of now, the i5 model costs around $700. You will have great portability, an Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space. All inside this rather classic-looking 13.3″ laptop. Nothing flashy, just good value for money.

4. ASUS Vivobook 15

Some just want an everyday notebook for those daily tasks. If that’s what you’re after, the new 15.6-inch Vivobook 15 is exactly the type of laptop that does exactly that. It has an Intel Core i3 processor, 8 GB of memory and 128 GB of storage space on a Solid State Drive. Nothing extra. However, don’t be fooled by the $430 price tag. It’s a sturdy, durable companion, perfect for light work either at home or at the office.

5. Lenovo C330 Chromebook

This small and inexpensive Chromebook is a great alternative to a tablet. Not only does it have decent enough hardware to run any app that’s available on the Chrome OS without any glitches, its reduced size and lightweight design is a plus for anyone who spends their time traveling or working while commuting. It even streams 4K content without lag, which, for a sub-$300 device, is a great achievement.

7. MSI P75 Creator

If you’re looking for a capable mobile workstation and need the best of the best, this is it. The brand new MSI P75 Creator is specifically tailored for design professionals, engineers, pro photographers and video creators. The performance alone is second to none. This is a 17.3″ workstation with an Intel Core i9-9880H processor, 32 GB of memory, 1 TB NVMe SSD and GeForce RTX2070 graphics. And it doesn’t come cheap, but if you really want that kind of performance, it’s worth every penny.
